Sure, there would be violence-but only because the park's programmers, under the watchful eye of Dr. Imagine a Westworld without any humans whatsoever, and you get an eerie image of a place where the robots simply run in an infinite, purgatorial loop, in which they do and say the exact same things over and over again until their intricate mechanisms begin to break down.

But when it comes to Westworld itself, who can we actually, confidently call a sinner? Dolores, who seems ready to throw off the limitations that were built into her very nature and embrace free will? The Gunslinger, who regards all his violence as meaningless because none of it comes at the expense of a human being? Or Dr. "Contrapasso," the title of this week's Westworld, refers to the concept that everyone will someday be punished in proportion to their sins.
